Another Day in the Enchanted Forest

Yesterday I set out on another hike at the Land of Medicine Buddha and into the Enchanted Forest. This time with my good friend, Jen.

image

It was an absolutely gorgeous morning. How could it not be though, with the amazing place we call home.

image

We took a shorter route than I did the last week.  This one about a mile and a half. After that loop, we walked the Eight Versus Trail to get a little extra land in.  We finished at about 3 miles.  3 glorious miles though.

image

It was the first time that I went to the temple and saw this amazing statue.  It was huge. I am assuming about 25 feet tall.  All indoors.

image

I didn’t go in, but will next time. Maybe bring a token of my gratification for whomever created this beautiful place for me to enjoy.

Even though I am not religious, I find that looking at these little beautiful scenes that I find all over this property, brings me a calm. I’ll welcome that any time.

While visiting one of the little shrines in the Enchanted Forest, I found a rock that was placed for Madyson Middleton. I was hoping I would see one. That made me smile. HOWEL FOR MADDY!!

image

At one point of the short round about, we walked down hill.  Steep down the hill.  My knees don’t usually like that, but I am feeling pretty great today, so I’ll probably to it again if I want a shorter hike day.

I love looking around and noticing all of the changes going on for Autumn. The color of the leaves, the ferns in full force, the wildflowers dyeing off.

I can’t wait to go back! 🙂

Brilliant!

This really stuck with me today. It can’t express how I feel any better.  It also reminds me of what I need to do in my life. What I think about constantly, but don’t follow through with. That I need to just speak and not walk on eggshells. That I need to do more for myself and what makes me feel good.

I want to thank, Rachael, a friend on Facebook. One of the very few friends that I have on Facebook, that I have never actually met in person. I adore your drive for life. For peace. For health. For education.  ♥

Painting

Image

Some days I really want to paint. Lately I haven’t.  Actually, not in several, several months.

I started painting, because I thought I would try another artistic outlet for myself since I am not good at any other artsy things. Every time I do paint, it is like I am learning all over again. It is different every time and I love it.  It relaxes me. Focuses me. Brings me calm.

Image

I have the images in my mind, but as that image goes through me and down my arm and out my hand with an art utensil of any kind, it usually looks like a kindergartener did it.  Seriously!

Some days I think of selling some of my paintings.  Well, the ones that I actually don’t hide in the closet, which is most of them.  I do show them to friends when asked. I mostly just give them to friends as gifts.  If someone likes one, it is usually going home under their arm.

I do have a couple that I really liked, and those went to special people in my lives.  If they hate them, I guess they can hide them in their closet too.  LOL!

My Husband has had a request in for some time now of an Arizona stormy sunset. I have several photos, just haven’t tried it yet. I’ve never really taken the clouds on and they seem a bit intimidating.  I really need to do it just for him.

Sometimes I paint something, because it reminds me of someone.  Like sunflowers remind me of my Niece, Jennifer.

I thought that I would share some of my paintings today. They are all oil on canvas.  Some you may like and others you may not.  Same as me.  I am my own worst critic. 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Boundaries

I’ve taken on a new challenge from the The Daily Post called “Weekly Photo Challenge: (theme of the week)”. Friday Each week, they’ll provide a theme for creative inspiration. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme and post them on your blog anytime before the following Friday when the next photo theme will be announced. This weeks theme is BOUNDARIES. The cool thing is that everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography. I thought that this would be a super fun challenge for me.  I love to take photographs and haven’t been doing it as much lately as I like.  Hopefully, this will just be one more thing that I can get back on track with.  Yes, I like it and I hope you do too!

BOUNDARIES #1

BOUNDARIES #2

BOUNDARIES #3

It’s in my soul to push the boundaries of life just a little bit further than most.  I’ve always loved sex. I’ve always been a bit risqué.  I’ve always loved a yummy cocktail. But, when it comes to boundaries that push mine is when I draw the line. No matter how minor they may seem, hence the photo of my dog, Rogue.  He is sweet, beautiful, smart and pisses in my house. He has been professionally trained, watched and given a thousand chances. Now he lives in his own space if not on a leash and with one of the humans in the house.  I love him, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do to keep your boundaries and life sane.  🙂
