I can’t believe that I will be doing my first Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure in 32 more days in San Francisco.  I am so excited and so terrified at the same time.  The one good thing I have on my side is that I know I can do it.  I know I can make it through this walk and am so excited and determined to do it.  It is going to be one of the most fabulous experiences of my life.  What a better cause then breast cancer to walk for!!

I booked my air travel today and got an excellent deal on airfare.  Southwest Airlines is the way to fly these days.  You don’t have to pay the extra for your bags, which is putting them ahead of the game.  It was the other airlines stupidity to start charging for bags. Whomever the marketing person was on that one will soon be fired I’m sure.

I need to set up a couple of hotel reservations still, so I will work on that tomorrow.  On Friday and Saturday nights I will be sleeping in the “sea of pink”.  Hundreds of pink tents set-up on our first and second nights of the walk.   Speaking of sleeping in a tent, I need to get myself a very light sleeping pad and also a very light sleeping bag.  The one I have now is not under the weight limit by far.  I believe that we can only bring a bag holding all of our things that is only 30 pounds.  That is 3 days of walk packing, 2 nights in a tent and 2 nights in the City.  I can do this.  🙂

Thus far, I have raised $822.00.  That means I have 32 more days to raise the $2300.00.  I had a BrownBag Party on Saturday night which was pretty successful.  I believe that I raised about $350 from that.  I have also had a Pampered Chef Fundraiser, which was great.  I will be having a Pokeno Game Night on the 11th of September as my final fundraiser.  I am hoping that night will bring in quite a bit.  There will be a $25 per person buy-in, raffle tickets to win gifts and baskets.  It will be a fun and successful evening.
